Welcome to My Music
I picked up the guitar at sixteen, and soon became aware of a burning ambition: I wanted to be a songwriter. However, it took more than four decades of quiet persistence before I was truly proud of my efforts.
Around the age of sixty, something shifted, and songs started emerging that I considered worthy of recording and sharing. Over the past sixteen years, working from a modest spare room setup on a laptop— with an essential early hand from my son Paul on digital audio workstations, and with excellent contributions from musician friends and family members – this collection brings together that journey from raw, early experiments to fully realised projects. This site is an open archive of that work, made for friends, family, and anyone curious enough to listen.
The Music
- Calafuria (Latest Solo Album): My most cohesive solo collection, representing the culmination of years of writing and spare room recording. Available to listen to here and across all major streaming platforms.
- Silhouette: The middle chapter of my solo writing (including 3 covers), capturing the evolving sound and confidence that developed in my late sixties.
- Flotsam: An early chronicle of the writing process (including 3 covers). Raw and home-spun, these songs represent the beginning of learning the craft of recording.
- Luckless Visitors (Collaboration): An ongoing project formed during the 2020 lockdowns with the daughter of an old friend – a gifted singer and lyricist. We have eight tracks recorded and are working toward a full ten-song release.
