A note on AI
I first came across AI-generated music in Spring 2026. Anything on this site recorded before then has no AI elements. You could argue that drums from a drum machine, which have exclusively been used on all my tracks, are a form of AI, but they have been such an integral part of professional music making for decades that they have become part of the scenery. AI music generators, like Suno which I have toyed with, can write whole songs for you from a description or a few hummed notes. They will also write lyrics from a simple description. Some of this machine-made music can be impressive, but I think that is important that the listener is made aware of who or what generated the music they listen to. All the songs on this site have been written by myself and my friends, tunes and lyrics, and that won’t change. The benefit of AI for me is as an enhancer. I aim to record analogue music as much as possible, but as a non-professional musician who is not in a band I have scant resources, so this new technology can help me to deliver a better end product. Whenever it has been used it will be mentioned in the credits sections.
