The headline in the paper said that rock and roll was dead.
I choked on my coffee in a fit and fell off my bed.
I ran to my radio and scrolled from A to Z
After checking 20 stations one thing was clear to me.
You read a lot of shit in the media
Things are getting out of control
That’s why we all need rock and roll

I went to a festival to do a little R&D
I heard hip-hop, house, rap
drums ‘n’ bass and Jamie T
There was folk, jazz, trance
and a bit of old-fashioned soul
But who was the Daddy?
You guessed it – it was rock and roll
