Old Tin Can                                                           Written by: Bob Hamilton

I’m the captain of this ship,
a crazy vessel on a strange trip
There’s holes at the waterline and cracks in the mast
I’ve travelled seas both far and near
I’ve sunk in storms but I’ve re-appeared
Sailing the world in an old tin can

I was just a boy, when I took command.
I foundered on rocks, I beached on the sand
Caused a lot of damage in collisions in the dark
Had to pull into dry dock to patch up the ark

Now I list to starboard a bit
Compass don’t work when bad weather hits
But I’m in control, and steering a course
I’m guided by the Northern Star
It’s not very clear and it looks so far
Mmh mmh mmh mmh goin’ nowhere
