Stop Digging                               Written by Bob Hamilton (October 2026)

I gave it all I had
I couldn’t give no more
I kept digging till my hands were sore
I have to give it back
I want to restore
I need to pick myself off the floor
Sometimes living is too easy when it’s like a dream
Tear the fabric discover that nothing is what it seems

I sent a letter in the post
The envelope was black
Return to sender it came straight back
Am I a living ghost
Am I a sorry hack
Am I a fiction or a solid fact
You got to stop digging when you realise you’re in a hole
Maybe take it easy on yourself and stop this rigmarole

It hurts to see this tragedy unfold
Sing to me before I grow too old
Though I would give it all to bring you back
I sure as hell ain’t dying on this track

It hurts to see this tragedy unfold
Sing to me before I grow too old
Though I would give it all to bring you back
I sure as hell ain’t dying on this track
